Kenny Koncaba

Kenny Koncaba

Chief Executive Officer

CEO of Texan Bank, and Co-Founder, Director, and CEO of Friendswood Capital Corporation, Kenny’s previous experience includes being the Co-Founder, Chairman, CEO, and President of Family Bancorp, Inc., and its subsidiary bank, now known as Vantage Bank Texas. In addition, he served as a Director, President and Chief Operating Officer at First Community Bank, Houston, a National Bank which was sold to Wells Fargo Bank in 2005. Prior to his banking career, Kenny was employed for more than twenty years with the Texas-New Mexico Power Company, where he served in numerous management roles. Other business positions include being the Founder/CEO of Friendswood Energy Generation Company in 2011, a company which was sold to Quantum Energy in 2015. In addition, he served in the recent past as a Director for the Icon Wellness Clinic. Kenny is currently a Partner for HC Industrial Partners, a firm he co-founded in 2015.

Kenny was previously elected by the public to the Friendswood ISD Board of Trustees (School Board) for three terms and to two terms on the Galveston County Consolidated Drainage District Board. He also served after being appointed by Commissioners Court to the Galveston County Beach and Parks Board. As an appointee of Texas Governor, Rick Perry, Kenny served on the Texas Housing and Health Services Coordinating Council. In 2015, Governor Greg Abbott appointed him to the Board of Commissioners of Pilots, Galveston County Ports, where he served as Commission Chairman. Kenny also served on the Board of Regents of Texas Southern University, and in 2019, was appointed by Governor Abbott to the Texas State Securities Board. He also currently serves as an Executive Board Member on the Board of Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership (BAHEP), Primary member of HGAC Regional Flood Council, as well as the Friendswood Education Foundation Board. Kenny earned his BA at the University of Houston/Clear Lake, where he delivered the commencement speech to the December, 2016, graduates of the College of Business and College of Human Sciences and Humanities, and was honored as Distinguished Alumnus in 2018.

Chief Operating Officer

Kristi Koncaba currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors, President and Chief Operating Officer of Texan Bank. She also serves as a member of the Board of Directors, Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Secretary of Friendswood Capital Corporation, the bank holding company for Texan Bank. Ms. Koncaba has co-founded two bank holding companies in Texas, Friendswood Capital Corporation and Family Bancorp, Inc., both of which received regulatory approval to acquire Texan Bank and the bank now known as Vantage Bank, respectively. She has seventeen years of commercial banking experience, including successful completion of 7 mergers and acquisitions. Ms. Koncaba has representative expertise, achieved at the above-mentioned banks as well as well as FC Holdings, Inc. and First Community Bank, N.A., in the following areas: Human Resources, Information Technology, Bank Operations, Marketing, Training and Facilities. Her prior experience in other industries include negotiating contracts in international logistics with Stolt-Nielsen Transportation Group, positions in Accounting and Information Technology at Equistar/Lyondell Chemical Company and a Human Resources internship at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

Ms. Koncaba is currently the Chairman of the Bay Area YMCA Advisory Board, a non-profit organization who provides local families the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive through low cost programs and direct financial assistance for families in need. In addition, she serves on the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and South Belt – Ellington Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. As an appointee of Governor Greg Abbott, Ms. Koncaba also serves on the Board of Directors of the Texas Mutual Insurance Company. 

She currently maintains the following professional certifications: Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), HR Houston, Texas Bay Area SHRM and Financial Women in Texas (FWIT). She earned a Bachelor of Science in American Jurisprudence and a Master of Arts in Human Resource Management from the University of Houston – Clear Lake.

Ms. Koncaba was a 2013 Change Magazine "Women Creating Change" Honoree, and she was honored with the 2016 University of Houston – Clear Lake Early Achievement Award, presented by the UHCL Alumni Association. She also received the 2017 Perry Family YMCA Volunteer of the Year presented by the YMCA of Greater Houston for volunteerism, ethic of service and commitment to equality. In 2018, Ms. Koncaba was a nominee for the League City Chamber of Commerce "Athena" award. 

Travis Williams

Travis joined the Company in October 2014. Prior to that time, he was a Senior Audit Manager with Briggs and Veselka Co., a licensed Certified Public Accountant firm. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Texas and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Travis earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration at Sam Houston State University.

Robert Raney

Robert Raney serves as EVP Chief Lending Officer.  Robert has eighteen years of commercial banking experience.  After graduating from Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business with a bachelor of science in management and a major in finance, Robert completed his formal credit training program with Whitney National Bank and transferred to Houston in December 2002.  After working in the middle market banking group, Robert joined the original team of bankers who started The Bank of River Oaks in 2005.  Robert served on the board of Art League Houston for 6 years as a member of the finance and executive committees.  Robert is also an active member of First Presbyterian Church and served on the finance committee as chair.

Danielle has fifteen years of commercial banking experience in Branch and Deposit Operations, Customer Service Support, Lockbox, Cash Management, and Compliance. Prior to joining Texan Bank, Danielle was employed at Southern National Bank.

Jenny has fifteen years of commercial banking experience in Branch Operations, Deposit Operations, Information Technology, Human Resources, Facilities, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Training. Prior to joining Texan Bank, Jenny was employed at First Community Bank N.A. as well as Fiserv, the bank's core processing system. She is a graduate of the University of Houston- Clear Lake where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration.

Deepa Kapadia

Deepa Kapadia has over fourteen years of Commercial Banking and Commercial Finance/Lender Finance experience in credit underwriting, asset based lending, collateral asset based auditing, counter-party credit risk, inter-company lending and financial analysis.  She has held positions at Triumph Savings Bank/ Triumph Commercial Finance, Fluor Corporation and Wells Fargo Capital Finance - Lender Finance. Deepa earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and a Minor in International Business at Texas A&M University.

Chelsea Taylor

Prior to joining Texan Bank, Chelsea gained experience in psychology and neuroscience. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience from Texas A&M University and a Master of Arts in Industrial Organizational Psychology and Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management from University of Houston – Clear Lake. Chelsea serves as a Board Member of My Veteran Community, a local veteran support organization that has a commitment to seek and extend meaningful aide to veterans, service members, and their families as they traverse civilian life.

Chelsea currently maintains the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). She is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), Texas Bay Area SHRM, HR Houston, and the Society for Industrial Organizational Psychologists.
